What makes Glass Today unique?

Tell us something we don’t know about auto glass.
As cars are getting lighter, and engineering is getting more and more sophisticated, the structural integrity of the auto glass and sealants has become very critical.

Airbags are designed to use the windshield as the backdrop for the airbag when it is deployed. If a windshield is installed improperly, the airbag could push the windshield out and negate the safety aspects. It is extremely important to utilize the best practices and the best products when installing a windshield to ensure that the passengers are safe.

The windshield also provides structural integrity to the car in a rollover situation. Which is why you always want to get a cracked windshield replaced!

If you had an extra hour in every business day, what would you do with it?
I would spend it exploring the future of our business. Thinking ‘outside the box’ in order to make the company financially stronger and our employees lives better both personally and financially.

 

What is the best advice you were ever given about being a business owner?
‘Early in on-time… on-time is late.’

Showing up early shows people you are engaged and interested, and you’re physically present and prepared to work.

 

Can you describe your relationship with Cox Insurance?
I would like to think of Glass Today’s relationship with Cox Insurance as one of our closest partnerships. Truthfully, I could be buying my insurance from anyone – there are a lot of choices out there. I’ve evaluated every aspect of our insurance, and there was literally no comparison that I could make in terms of service, how easily accessible you are, how well you explain your products, and how thorough you were in examining our liabilities.

You look at our business as if it was your own. Cox Insurance exemplifies that more than anyone we do business with. That’s very honest.

As a new client of Cox Insurance, describe your first impressions.
My first experience with Cox Insurance was warm and professional, and that set the tone for feeling really good about my decision to transfer my insurance over to Cox Insurance.

All the staff were exceptionally inviting and professional. I was impressed with the very neat and detailed package they presented me with. They explained everything in detail and they advised me on the best options for my situation.

The great treatment I received left me confident in the work, and they were very prompt with any responses to my questions.

What did you find most valuable about your experience?
How I felt when I walked-in and walked-out affected me greatly. I left feeling like I was their only client and that my best interest was being served!

When I had an insurance claim, they were right there to help me through it.

In advance of Valentine’s Day—her busiest day of the year—we caught up with our commercial insurance client Sandy Biedler, owner of Hermes Floral.

What makes Hermes Floral unique?
The quality of our products and our customer service. Also, it’s like a neighborhood here—we definitely have a different feeling than if we were in a strip mall. Almost all of our giftware is made by local artists and we like to support our local community.

If you had an extra hour in every business day, what would you do with it?
Marketing. Especially social media . It’s so challenging to find the time or the right person to keep up that conversation with our customers.

What is the best advice you were ever given about being a business owner?
I was always afraid of doing things the wrong way. Someone said to me “Just do it your way, and if it’s wrong, you will learn from it.” That’s been the best advice I’ve gotten.

Can you describe your relationship with Cox Insurance and how we have worked together to protect your unique exposures?
When you start a business you don’t realize what needs to be insured and what doesn’t. You think with one phone call you can sign up for what you need.

When I worked with Kevin from Cox Insurance, he went through the store with me and asked very specific questions about our equipment, products and delivery vehicles. It was extremely helpful to have someone explain our exposures and develop a plan that was thorough.

After working on our commercial insurance, I also decided to switch my personal insurance to Cox Insurance. I actually got a lot better value and added an umbrella policy to my coverage.

Can you share an experience that stands out to you and demonstrates our unique working relationship?
I was with our former insurance guy for 31 years, and I never met him. With Cox Insurance, if I have a question, it’s not hard to get an answer.

What should we know about Valentine’s Day?
